GILE BAE
Gile Bae is a Dutch concert pianist and Bösendorfer Artist who made her debut as a soloist at the age of five in South Korea, performing Haydn’s Piano Concerto in C Major. At six, she entered the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and later continued her studies under Maestro Franco Scala at the International Piano Academy of Imola, where she graduated in 2017.
From an early age, she won numerous first prizes in prestigious competitions, including the International Steinway & Sons Piano Competition and the Maria Campina International Piano Competition. At 15, she won the upper category of the Steinway & Sons Competition and represented the Netherlands at the International Festival in Hamburg. Following these successes, she decided to withdraw from competitions.
She has performed for the Dutch Royal Family and Nobel Prize laureates. In 2018, she was named a “Bösendorfer Artist” in Vienna in the presence of Paul Badura-Skoda and Sir András Schiff. Invited by Sir András Schiff, she participated in the “Building Bridges” project and performed at major European venues, including De Singel in Antwerp, Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, and the Konzerthaus in Berlin. She has also appeared at the MITO Festival in Italy and the “La Milanesiana” Festival.
Gile Bae has played with orchestras across Europe and beyond, including performances at the Royal Opera House in Muscat with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. She recorded Bach’s Goldberg Variations for the Foné label and released a 2023 album featuring Bach’s piano concertos with Archi di Santa Cecilia. Future albums with Universal, including works by J.S. Bach, Chopin, and Schumann, are set for release in 2024 and 2025.
